Talking with dear friends monthly about the joys and sorrows of life is absolutely the best part of our book club. We share the good news of new grandchildren (Lucienne join our ranks a new grandmother!) and the sorrows of the illnesses of loved ones. Indulging in delicious appetizers and wine (or Diet Coke, as preferred), a scrumptious dinner and then relaxing for dessert in front of a newly refurbished fireplace, how can it get better?

The enjoyment of reading our book of last month, The Life and Times of The Thunderbolt Kid, was discussed and a new book for next month, The Whistling Season by Ivan Doig, was chosen.
